Jaguar is the luxury vehicle brand of Jaguar Land Rover, officially owned by the Tata motors group since 2008. The brand has recently announced, that all cars made under it's banner will be fully electric by 2025.
Jaguar I-Pace
The Jaguar I-Pace is the premium compact SUV by Jaguar that has been in production since 2018. This vehicle has had relatively little mainstream success during that time, selling less than 2,000 vehicles in North America in 2021. That doesn't mean it's not a great car, as electric cars are still gaining momentum and the luxury price tag starting at $99,800 MSRP makes this vehicle more exclusive than many of its competitors.
This vehicle has a manufacturers listed range of 381km, and a charge time of approximately 10 hours. This puts it slightly ahead of the Audi e-tron's range, but about $10,000 more expensive. A quick look suggests the car is quite uncommon in Canada, however one is currently listed in Calgary for a retail price of $125,136.
Charging Specifications
The Jaguar I-Pace's estimated charging time is based on a 9.6KW AC home charger. This car will be compatible with most level-2 home charging systems that can be installed in a residential home. The vehicle is compatible with the universal SAE J1772 plug type, adhering to the standard for North America.
Moonlight Recommendation: Jaguar vehicles are compatible with many non-OEM ev charging solutions. The manufacturers website does not list a recommended OEM provider, nor does Jaguar advertise any Jaguar branded home charger systems.
Depending on your home electrical service, we recommend purchasing a high amperage smart charging system to give your vehicle the juice it needs. Examples - JuiceBox 40A, and 48A.
